Do You Need a Good Source for Teleseminars and Webinars?

By Kathy Fyler

If you are looking to build your business online, then creating teleseminars/webinars is a great way to reach people all over the world and increase your customer base.  Prospects might spend 60 seconds on your website, but they'll spend 60 MINUTES or more with you on a teleseminar-that's why teleseminars may be the most underutilized tool in marketing today.  Our company, Powerful You! has been creating teleseminars/webinars for many years and last year we switched to a service called Instant Teleseminar. I am happy to report that I highly recommend it for your teleseminar needs.

These are the top 8 reasons I love Instant Teleseminar …

1.    Webinar and Teleseminar in one - This allows you to give the choice to your attendees… either they can listen on the phone or over the internet.  You will find that people do prefer one or the other.

2.    Slide Presentations - Engage your webinar attendees with a great slide presentation.  Create a PowerPoint presentation and upload to Instant Teleseminar and it is available for your next event!  If you have guest speakers, no worries.  Instant Teleseminar creates a link that you can give to your guest and they can easily manage their own slides without having to access the back office.

3.    Live Chat - Easily incorporate “live chat” and questions on the webinar. This allows for interaction between the presenter and guests, and the guests may also chat with each other.

4.    Record Easily - Record your event and your replay is available immediately through a single click.

5.    Add Audio to Your Events - You can customize your event by simply uploading your audio online. You can upload music for a “lead-in” or ending of your event, or play an advertisement from a paid advertiser, a sponsor or your own company.

6.    Easy to use Control Panel – The control panel/back office allows you to: see the numbers of the callers on the phone, mute all or specific callers, start the recording, check for questions from the webinar and monitor the online chat.

7.    Autopilot - Autopilot events will automatically play an audio recording "as if live" over the phone & webcast during a future event. Since the autopilot hosts the event, a live host is not required to dial-in.  This allows you to ‘record” the event at your convenience and schedule it for whatever time works for you.

8.    Host the webinar on your OWN WEBSITE - Easily copy and paste code into your website or Wordpress blog and you can host the whole event on your website. This allows you to customize the webpage and also get the attendees to your website during the event.  For an example of this, click here - Click Here

There are lots more features and benefits than listed above, but these are my favorites!  You can even check out the complete service for yourself with a 21 day trial for only $1. It may be exactly what you need to move your business to the next level. Click here

Million Dollar Ideas

By Sue Urda

You’ve probably had at leaBIC099st one million dollar idea in your lifetime, right? In fact, I imagine you might have even had ten or even a hundred of them. Some people will even attest that they saw their idea ‘in the flesh’ on a store shelf or for sale on the internet not too long after they had it… and they got no credit or made no money for the incredible idea they had. For instance, I remember telling my dad in the early 1980’s about an idea I had for an umbrella that not only opens, but also closes at the touch of a button. I knew people would buy it, because it was practical, useful and would provide ease. I remember trying to figure out the mechanics of this umbrella and saw myself owning the patent and selling millions and millions of them. About a year after I had this million dollar idea I saw the very product in a store and knew somebody somewhere was making a bundle. So, if we’re all having all these great million dollar ideas, where are all the millionaires?

Ideas are a Dime a Dozen

It’s true… an idea in and of itself is not worth anything. It’s what comes after the idea that makes all the difference.  An idea without action is simply a dream.  It is out there in the ethers and it is ripe for the taking. In fact, I am not sure there are any truly unique, one-of-a-kind ideas anyway. I believe that all information, all thoughts and all visions are in the universal consciousness and it is our desire and free and open thinking that brings the ‘idea’ into our minds. But it takes more than the thought and the desire to manifest an idea.

Actions Bring Ideas to Life

So, if you think you have a million dollar idea and you want the million dollars to come along with it, you must take action. The first step is to develop a complete vision for your idea. Consider all aspects, do some research and imagine your idea being put into use in real world situations. See your idea made manifest and solving a problem that exists. You must then formulate in your mind the steps to bring it to life – create a business plan, do a drawing, make an outline or whatever is appropriate to put it in the works. Then, focus and take real action. If your vision and plan is strong enough, you’ll be drawn to people, situations and events to make it happen with ease and the excitement will continue to build. Keep your vision top of mind each day and allow yourself to go with the flow of what shows up in front of you.

NOTE: Your million dollar idea may not be about money at all, and instead it is purely altruistic. The same principles apply, so work it Girl!

Now, that’s Powerful!

career complacency, mediocrity + passion

By Tara Correll
What led me to here.

Picture this: The scene, circa mid 1990’s, Donna Karan suit, Joan + David loafers. Hair: executive blonde with a Jennifer Aniston, sort-of-blowout. I once negotiated my salary with a C.E.O. on a paper napkin… priceless.

6 a.m., toxic aftershave, coma-induced flight to JFK. Swank digs in Manhattan at the Soho Grand Hotel (or) flight to Philly, town car to Wilmington, luscious suite at the Hotel DuPont. Week long, brand strategy marketing meetings with global directors and their teams. I organized + conducted futuristic “think tanks”. Not to mention the three hour, mind numbing “get it done”, conference calls that doubled as house cleaning sessions - thanks to the home office. Add a high octane diet coke chugging, micro-managing boss, who lived on no sleep – with a new born baby no less, you get the picture. Clawing and scraping for the rush of accolades + kudos… pure ego.

I got great at pushing paper, generating quantitative and qualitative reports that more than likely, no one ever read. I got good at justifying my corporate existence. Email after email, meeting after meeting. Five years later, I jumped ship, just two years before the S.S. Corporate Titanic sank. The positions that were created were dissolved. Non-sustaining business practices as usual: old school ideologies in this case, did not stand the test of time.

That said, we do, what we gotta do. I knew this job would not last forever or at least, I wouldn’t. I was certain that I'd learn alot about what I did or didn’t like within the confines in which I'd thrive. So I sucked it up, and milked that job like it was the career from heaven above; treating it like the Harvard Business School education that I never had. I was exposed to an evironment of working with top executives, professional athletes, inventors and thought leaders for Fortune 500 companies. The hours ranged from 60 to 80 hours a week, (I had a toddler), and I was paid handsomely for my absence.

The big upside: I learned a lot about myself in that; unless I could see the direct value correlate to the end result it meant nothing to me, utterly and thoroughly, soul-less. It taught me to think longer range, bigger picture, grow thicker skin and shoot straight from the hip.

To repurpose your blood + sweat, knowing at the end of the day, that lessons are learned, you’ll remain unscathed and all the approval you sought or thought you sorely needed, was always or never there; that in itself, got me to here. And for that, I’m eternally grateful.

co-creating your dharma + desire ::

By Tara Correll
Dharma or (Destiny): Our true place in the cosmic process. Desire: The true meaning: “of or guided by the (sire) stars”.

What is Desire? Have you ever experienced the rush of desire; that feeling of passion for someone or something you cannot wait to wake up or go home to? The healthy exuberance of creative possibility, or the excitement of the artistic unknown: a life that’s self-actualized by your own design is attainable, if you’re in tune with your dharma, destiny or calling. Have you wondered why some people make what seems so out of reach, so undeniably effortless? The answer: Unwavering Belief + Desire. They’re not seeking outside approval, nor do they spend time scrutinizing the actions of others; so passionate about what they desire they are unrelenting at setting their own bar, bunkering down and staying their course.

Co-creating a life you take pride in, is to be willing and open to the potential for possibility or failure, but in the inherent knowing that your power lies deep within. It’s all there and always has been. To seek external approval is as to deem ourselves unworthy and undeserving. It is the furthest point from “the divine”, that we can be. It can automatically throw walls up for failure. The onus and responsibility to guide our own course, is on us and only us. To do right by ourselves not only betters us, but betters society as a whole and solidifies the concept of self-sustainability and interconnectedness.

To follow our heart’s desire, hold every encounter every experience with reverence, as it is our dharma or cosmic blueprint; that demonstration of faith and strength sometimes shows itself, in the unknown. It too, can even be in the uncertainty that a shred of proof exists. We have the potential to become the co-creators and Rembrandts of our lives.

You can do this. I PROMISE.

We can either watch life from the sidelines OR ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE…. Either we let SELF-DOUBT and FEELINGS OF INADEQUACY prevent us from realizing our potential, or embrace the fact that when we turn our attention away from ourselves, OUR POTENTIAL IS LIMITLESS.” ~ Christopher Reeve

Putting All Your Eggs in One Basket

By Sue Urda

BXP35164As long as I can remember, I have opted for putting all of my eggs in one basket. I simply decided what I wanted and went for it; and nine times out of ten, I got it! I was never a fan of second and third choices either, unless it involved ice cream flavors or pizza toppings. I learned at an early age that I almost always got what I set out for, and even though I witnessed others who this didn’t always work for, I couldn’t see any reason for me to change my way of getting what I wanted.

Some people used to tell me I was lucky and that no matter what I always came up smelling like a rose… I remember smiling at them and knowing they were right.  Then, as I moved further along in life and got into my late twenties and early thirties, my experiences began to change a bit. My dad passed and our business went bankrupt, and I spent many lean years trying to regain the magic I had known in my youth. Where was my Midas touch? Where was the luck I took for granted? Why were things harder and harder to attain?

Back Up Plans and Settling

Looking at my rocky road, I started to second guess my strategy. I heard lots of people saying things like “Life is hard”, “You can’t have everything” and “You’ve got to take the bad with the good”. On some level I started to believe them, because it seemed that this was what was happening to me. Little did I know I had it backwards.

Thank Goodness for Wake Up Calls

Then, right before my fortieth birthday when things seemed pretty bleak, I attended a Tony Robbins seminar that set off a string of events for me. I started to look more closely at my thought patterns and beliefs.  What I realized is that I had started to buy into many negative, widely-held beliefs that I was hearing. I had let go of my own powerful beliefs of ease and fulfillment that had guided me in my youth. I had stopped believing in the magical powers of my mind.

When I realized that it was the shift in my beliefs that was causing the shift in my experience, I knew I could get my ‘mojo’ back. I practiced affirmations and set new goals. I focused daily on my vision and desires, and I let go of the negativity of others. What I found then and still know to be true is that putting all my eggs in one basket works for me. I keep my vision alive and in front of me and keep the fires of my positivity well stoked. I move forward courageously towards my desires and I surround myself with people who support my dreams. As long as I do all this, I don’t need a back-up plan or a second choice. All I need is my belief in my personal power and the world is my oyster. It’s your oyster too!

Now, that’s Powerful!

It's Good to have 'Shereos'

By Sue Urda

Mother Teresa.jpg

As a kid, my biggest Sheroe was my mom. I swore she could do anything better and

These days, Mom is still one of my Sheroes and I have many more too. For me, Sheroes serve

faster than anyone I knew. When we played basketball she even made more baskets than my dad and brothers. I wanted to be like her (except for the part where she cleaned the house so often).

many purposes. They provide someone to look up to, admire and aspire to be like. They help us set our personal standards and goals and help us to draw our own lines in the sand. Sheroes provide a living example through the living of their lives and they provide light for us during our dark periods.

Here are a just a few of my Sheroes and why I love them.

Mother Teresa ~ She is the embodiment of Kindness, Compassion and Love for all human beings.

Ellen DeGeneres ~ She is an example of true and authentic living who uses humor and grace to bring joy and ease to millions.

Kumari Mullin ~ She is a gifted healer and beautiful woman who offers free healing to anyone in need, as she grows her business and follows her purposeful path. Click here

The 47 authors of our anthology book ~ Each of these women bares a part of their personal life journey to ease the way for others and to let them know that there truly is hope and joy no matter what.

I encourage you to find your own Sheroes and share them with everyone you know. Sheroes add fullness and meaning to life!

Preventing Tick Bites / Lyme Disease

By Megan Crandlemire

In my day job, I am owner of Starboard Digital, a website design firm in Connecticut.  I am a PY co-faciliator for the Southwestern CT group.

In my personal life, I'm passionate about educating people about the risk of tick bites / Lyme Disease.  The following is a blog I wrote for our local Patch about protecting yourself from tick bites.  Education and awareness is key!

The arrival of spring/summer introduces a hazard that we all need to be aware of....ticks.  New England has one of the highest rates of Lyme disease in the country.  The peak season for Lyme disease is late spring through summer.

Unfortunately, DEET, common in bug sprays applied to the skin, does not kill or disable ticks and is a poor repellent for ticks.  Planning ahead and taking some simple precautions before engaging in outdoor activities can help avoid a tick related illness.

Our clothing is our first line of defense.

Permethrin, which is applied to clothing only, works instantly and is extremely effective in killing ticks.  Permethrin was developed to simulate the natural chemical pyrethrum that protects plants from insect attack. It will kill insects and deer ticks.

Permethrin is to be used on clothing only and treated clothing can be worn when fully dry.  One treatment lasts 2-6 weeks; items can be washed between treatments.  Follow all label directions carefully.  Do not use Permethrin on your skin.  Permethrin products are available in stores that sell outdoor gear and is marketed under different product names.  CVS sells a Lice Treatment spray that contains Permethrin as well.  You can also find Permethrin sprays online.

Suggested clothing items to spray every few weeks:
  • Socks
  • Shoes
  • Sneakers
  • Pants
  • Sleeves
  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Practice Uniforms

After returning indoors...

Deer ticks like cool, moist environments, such as leaf litter, grass, tall grass around the edge of yards, wooded areas, or roadsides.  Ticks are present in short grass.

Even with clothing sprayed, it’s always good to be on the lookout for ticks. Perform a careful tick check after returning indoors. Deer ticks are tiny and difficult to see. After clothes are worn outdoors, wash them in hot water and dry on high heat to kill any ticks you may have missed.

2011 was a very wet year in Connecticut (record rainfall), and we finished a very warm winter; both situations can lead to a very active tick season.

Taking a few minutes to spray your clothing can help reduce the risk of a tick bite therefore reducing your risk of contracting Lyme Disease and other tick borne illnesses.

I Hate My Thighs... and other Bull*hit Thoughts

By Susan Carey

Man, are we hard on ourselves.Really, how often do your eyes immediately zoom to the part of your body you like the least?  I can betcha you've been saying that same tired old refrain to your self for a while now. or
if by chance, you worked yourself into  a reasonable facsimile of what you think  you should look like ( with the latest Real Housewives of Vancouver ladies as  role models) ( I'd like to know in what world those women are real in any sense  of the word, housewife or not) you are in constant high alert less another pound  slip on or another wrinkle appear.
Now, I'm all for being the
best you  possible. It's what I do.
But not at the expense of missing out on
what life  has to offer right now.
Someday, you may find yourself rocking on
the front  porch. Or in a wheel chair. Or worse.
Will you be saying "Man, I'm sooo glad I  spent all that time worrying about how I looked?"
or will be be-" I'm  thankful I enjoyed my life as best I could with what I had. I experienced
life  and not let it pass me by while I waited until I looked perfect to participate."
It's your choice. Make the right one.
Wishing you grace
& peace,
Susan

52 Lessons from My Father

By Sue Urda

May 24, 2012 - Today marks 18 years since my father’s passing from this earthly plane and I will be spending this day honoring our relationship, our love and the many lessons I learned from him. I am grateful for having shared time with my father during his 52 years on this planet. I am grateful for his unconditional love, his wide smile, his enveloping hugs, his uncompromising and big dreams, his beautiful spirit and the awesome example of his life. I miss his physical presence in my life, and I am grateful each day to be surrounded by his spirit and feel his love. If you knew him, I know he made a difference in your life. If you did not know him, you can know him through his lessons that I share with you. I am blessed to be his daughter.

1. Never put anything in writing that you wouldn’t want your parents to see.

2. You can do anything you put your mind to.

3. Never be afraid to say and stand by what you believe in.

4. If what you want to say will not bring good to a situation, don’t say anything at all.

5. Enjoy the process. There’s always a way to have fun even when you are working.

6. Choose wisely the people you allow into your life.

7. Don’t do anything that doesn’t feel good to you.

8. If there’s something you have to do that you don’t really like to do, get it done as quickly as you can and move on.

9. Sometimes people you love will ask you to do things you don’t really want to do… sometimes you’ll choose to do them because making that person happy is important to you.

10. Take time to listen to the rain.

11. It’s okay to make fun of yourself or to look foolish simply to make other people smile.

12. Belly laughs are good. Make others laugh as much and as often as you can.

13. People are the most important thing in life.

14. Think big. Your results can only be as big as you think they might be.

15. Say I love you – often.

16. Hugs are good. They let people know you care.

17. Eat what makes you happy… and don’t overdo it.

18. Make time for fun with friends.

19. Ask good questions and listen for the answers.

20. When you are inspired and have a dream, life becomes a great adventure and work becomes fun.

21. Your big dreams and enthusiasm are contagious. Share them and people will gather around you to make them happen.

22. Money is a vehicle to freedom, and freedom provides choices.

23. Read often to expand your mind and know of the possibilities of life.

24. Family can bring great joy and great heartache – love them deeply anyway.

25. Life is what you make it; nothing more, nothing less.

26. Love your mother.

27. Sometimes your friends will do things that you feel hurt by; have lots of friends anyway.

28. Give what you have to people you love and don’t squander anything.

29. Who you really are is more important than who others think you are.

30. If you choose to do something, do the best you can.

31. Your attitude matters more than your actions.

32. If someone asks you to do something you don’t want to do; say no, say it quickly and say it with a smile.

33. Vacations are good and necessary. So are date nights.

34. Playing games brings people together.

35. Provide forums for people to talk to each other, and make sure everyone has a voice.

36. Set aside time to think deep thoughts alone and to brainstorm with others.

37. Life is uncertain… enjoy every moment.

38. Money only matters when it brings joy or security.

39. Make a list of your goals and update it often. Make them really big, really exciting and really inspiring – to you.

40. Wherever you are, experience what is around you. Try new things, visit new places and meet new people.

41. Do what you say will you do. Personal integrity matters.

42. Share what you have with people who matter to you.

43. Smile. Smile big. Smile often.

44. Forgive people when they ask you to – especially family.

45. Give second chances, third chances, etc.

46. Believe in and trust the people you love.

47. Do what you can to make others feel good about themselves.

48. Risk is exciting. Playing it safe is boring and squashes your spirit.

49. Naps are good.

50. Surround yourself with things and people you love, enjoy and find beautiful.

51. Say thank you and mean it.

52. Unconditional love empowers people and provides them great freedom and joy.
