Is there something you desire that seems out of your reach? Something that you have a hankering for that is eluding you? Perhaps it is not really eluding you – perhaps you are eluding it.
As human beings we have come to expect that we will not receive everything we desire. It is commonplace for us to feel greedy or over-ambitious or unworthy when we ‘want too much’. These feelings are learned from our conditioning as children and our personal experience over the years as well as our observation of others. Much of society would have us believe that ‘good enough is good enough’ and that we should be happy with what we already have, and leave the rest for others. Some would even call this virtuous and righteous. I would call it incredibly short-sighted and untrue.
If you’re not in alignment your dreams can’t find you.
Here’s the deal… YOU are worthy and deserving of everything you can imagine and desire. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks and it doesn’t matter if you earn it with lots of hard work or if comes to you with grace and ease. The truth is that if have a desire in your heart and you see it in your mind’s eye, you will have it in your life experience. You must simply line up your feelings with your desires and focus on the good that will come from you having it. When you see and feel the good, your energy is raised and you cannot help but attract the people, circumstances, events and actions into your life that will deliver your desires. Aligning your feelings with your desires is the answer.
Life gives you whatever you ask of it. Ask from abundance.

So You Think You Want To Be an Author |
|
By Sue Urda
Have you ever said or thought these words … “I know I have a book in me, but I don’t have the time to write it” or, “I know my story would help lots of people, but it costs too much money to publish a book”? There are lots of people out there in the same boat and they are trying to find the answer.
The truth about being an author is that there is a myriad of incredible benefits and it is worth the time, energy and money to make it happen. But life sometimes has other plans for us. It beckons us with bills to pay, relationships to tend to, jobs to work and kids to raise. And then we have our subconscious mind to tempt us with limiting beliefs – but that’s not what this is about. The truth is that if you want to be an author, there is another way to go about it besides writing a whole book by yourself. It called an anthology or compilation book.
An anthology or compilation book (these are one and the same) is a collection of stories by several different authors on a specific topic.
The benefits of telling your story in an anthology format are many:
-
You don’t have to spend months or years writing a whole book – usually just one chapter.
-
You don’t have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to get your book published.
-
You have someone else handling the whole publishing process for you. (editing, cover design, layout, printing, etc.)
-
You don’t have to market the book on your own; instead you have lots of other partners marketing it with you.
-
You reach a new, like-minded audience through the other authors.
-
You get to be a part of a collaborative project, not a lonely author.
-
You make money when you sell the books.
AND you get all the additional benefits of being an author:
-
Automatic credibility – As an author, you add to your list of credentials.
-
Reach more people – books provide open doors and share your story with the masses.
-
Business growth and increased sales.
-
Positions you as an expert in your field.
-
Personal satisfaction of realizing a dream.
-
Public accolades and acknowledgements from your peers and clients
-
Charge more money for what you’re already doing.
-
Make money from book sales.
-
More and better speaking engagements.
Since publishing my first book two years ago, I have personally enjoyed all the benefits of being an author. Perhaps the greatest of these benefits comes in the form of notes and emails I receive from readers telling me how much my book or a specific passage resonated with them or helped them through a particular period in their life. There is not a price that can be put on such pleasures; it is a deep feeling of gratitude and joy in the heart.
If you are wanting to take the plunge into 'authorhood', and change your own life and the lives of others, join us as an author in one of our upcoming anthology books: Journey To Joy, Empowering Transformations For Business, and Women Living Consciously. Worry A State of Fear How to Stop |
|
By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer PhD
Worry is part of fear. Worry/fear is prompted by thoughts that something will go wrong, is wrong or can not be reconciled. Worry usually is prefaced with 'If only....' or 'What if....'
There are many reasons why people worry. Some people have an habitual tendency to worry in spite of evidence to the contrary or in spite of evidence there is no reason to be unsettled - i.e. a chronic worrier. Since worry is part of fear it is a very draining experience. In order for worry to manifest, one needs to imagine that something has transpired or will transpire when one least expects it. By definition worry is creating something out by projection, conjecture, fantasy or imagination running amok.
One of the main reasons someone worries is due to a sense of not being in control. For example: You might worry about a loved one driving home in bad weather and projecting there will be a crash. There is nothing one can do to guarantee safety. However, it goes without saying, that worry does not improve the odds of preventing a negative outcome. Worry in this instance seems to give the person a sense of control.
The good news is there are ways to transform worry to have a positive and healing effect. Worry uses the imagination, and so does the antidote to worry. When you notice yourself worrying, shift to imagining the best result instead of projecting the worst outcome. Visualize your loved ones' path bathed in white light and clearly seeing in your mind's eye their safe arrival. You can imagine angels and guides guiding their safe journey. When you imagine peace and well-being instead of chaos, strife or tragedy you are adding to a positive outcome rather than contributing energy to a negative outcome.
Another reason some people worry is that something one knows is pending and one is avoiding addressing it. Thus, worry is providing a nagging effect with regard to what one is avoiding; an unpaid parking ticket, impending test, an unaddressed issue, etc. Acknowledging what is lurking beneath the surface and addressing it mitigates the tendency to avoid by worrying. When you confront the situation and own your power to change it, the opportunity to worry is no longer viable.
Mark Twain is credited with stating, "I am an old man and I have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened."
Tips to stop worry:
-
Focus on and work toward the best case scenario. Accept the worst case scenario is possible. If you can accept the worst case scenario; there is nothing to worry about.
-
List your goals and action steps. The benefit of a 'To Do' list will stop the worry about missing a detail.
-
Include fun in your daily routine: Talking to friends/family. Read an inspirational book/article. Watch a funny movie. Take a walk, exercise, etc.
-
Ask for support: Talking things out helps the unknown to seem less stressful.
-
Make a Decision: Avoid procrastinating about unresolved personal or business issues. Avoid procrastinating about doing unpleasant tasks.
-
Confront Issues Head-on: It seldom is the issue that causes one to worry. It is the anticipation of the tasks at hand. Deal with issues in a timely manner.
-
Relax: Take time to relax. When you notice yourself becoming tense take a 10 minute break. Close your eyes and take deep long breaths through your nose and exhale through your mouth. With each breath visualize yourself meeting your goal on time with ease
-
Listen to relaxing music: Relaxing music and/or motivational messages will assist you to shift your thoughts.
-
Monitor Your Thoughts: Notice your thoughts and what you say. Replace negative and pessimistic thoughts with powerful and empowering thoughts. Or have a simple phrase to repeat when the going seems to be all up hill. "Calmness is the cradle of power." -Josiah Gilbert Holland. "This too shall pass." -Author unknown.
-
Keep a journal: Write everything that you worry about. When you see the fallacy in your thinking you will find it easier to shift to positive thinking.
-
Take Care of Your Health: Eat healthy food and exercise 2 - 3 times a week. Get 7 - 8 hours of sleep 5 to 7 nights a week. When you nurture your mind, body and spirit, it is easier to keep things in perspective and easier to manage the unexpected.
-
Count Your Blessings: You can be thankful for your health, family, freedoms, home, job and the many conveniences you have created.
